Let's talk about how to decipher the vehicle identification number. The easiest way to do this is to use a VIN number decoder. These services will collect all available information about your car into one simple and easy to read report so you know the history of your car. VIN decoders work by extracting information from databases of legal records and more. They will help you find out if your car has been involved in any accidents, thefts or other serious problems related to the car. This way you can make an informed purchase!

It is almost impossible to memorize the decoding of 17 characters and at the same time know the parameters of all countries. In this case, it is better to use a universal decoding program that opens access to important information.

The first three characters make up the WMI part, which is the manufacturer's identification number and the country in which the vehicle was assembled. For example, the VIN number of cars manufactured in Japan begins with the letter "J" and in the United States of America - with the number "1".

In addition to the mentioned characters, separators corresponding to the three parts of the VIN code can also be used. The separator type is determined by the manufacturer itself, but the separators cannot match the code characters. In official documents, separators are not used, and  VIN check  is written without spaces on one line.
