Hey, I'm new on the boards. I just recently caught wind of the cause and love what you guys to. I would love to join the ranks and help out anybody out there this summer. My small hick town doesn't need any touch-ups, its quite beautiful the way it is. I live in the Central New York area and would love to help anybody within an hour or so drive of my place. I'm a hopeful Noob so to speak, so please, some experienced veteran point me in the right direction.

I've tried organizing in Buffalo, but I think there's just no real call for it in Upstate as there are public gardens in open lots fapproved by the city, it's mostly gardening clubs that take care of public areas in the cities (Syracuse, Utica, Rochester)
Mainly it's organized, and not very guerilla....

Men?s Garden Club of Syracuse meets at 7:30 pm the 3rd Thursday of each month, First English Lutheran Church, 501 James St, Syracuse, NY. Rear Entrance. Non-denominational; all welcome, come as you are, free. 315/420-6369, (and the Lord said, let there be flowers...)

It's nice to hear about efforts in CNY.  I grew up near Utica, and miss it terribly.  There's lots of natural beauty there, but plenty of opportunities for sprucing up even the small cities.

I'll be wishing you the best in your efforts!
