I live in leicester and I'm on a one year waiting list for an allotment.
I like the idea of planting some soft fruit bushes somewhere, where people could help themselves.
Long term project though as it would be a couple of years before they became established.

For my money, autumn fruiting raspberries are quite quick to produce a crop.

The following year, from planting, if soil and site are good.
