Long Island Guerrilla Gardening!

I have been doing this for years. I am an avid gardener and learned as a child from my italian grandfather. I always garden organic, even my lawn. I normally thin my perennials and ornamental grasses every season and pull all of the new japanese maple sprouts around my property. I take everything I have, usually a lot of bulbs and rhizomes included and plant them any place I see could use them. This year I was caught by a woman and she told me about guerrilla gardening. Love the name as it seems to fit. I often do it late at night or very early mornings before sunrise. Though sometimes I just say screw it and go during the day. I had a cop pull over on the side of a parkway a few years ago as I planted some of the japanese maples, a hydrangea and some fountain grass. When he asked what I was doing I told him and he did not know what to make of it. He wanted to know why and I said because the area needed it and I had extra. He just said ok and drove away.

Anyway anyone on Long Island doing any guerrilla gardening?

Keith
