I've just weeded the strip of land in the middle of the road going up Denmark Hill in preparation for some planting. Some nice person has planted a bunch of hollyhocks there, but that's it. I have a few plants, is anyone interested in helping out? Even just keeping an eye on it as it is very dry.

I have started in on this now, with euphorbia, fennel, a teasel and hardy geraniums. I've just collected more plants including a small bay tree and some lychnis. So look out for the growing patch or help out! Any advice re Southwark Council very appreciated [this area seems like only very clear rectangles are ever touched by annual planting schemes but I'd hate for it all to be ripped out]

Great to discover this thread (I should look more often). I'm due to harvest some sunflower seeds from our guerrilla garden not far from there (Denmark Hill) and so will go and take a look this weekend.

hi Richard
hope you did get along there, I've only just noticed that someone responded to this thread. I went back this weekend and did some weeding around key plants and put some compost around the acanthus in particular. Most stuff is surviving. Had I realised this strange 'winter' would stay so mild I would have put some more plants in!
I did a note about the patch on facebook -will see if I can paste it on your GG site
cheers

Hi Lake
I've just moved to Southwark and, having left my 2 guerrilla gardens back in Lewisham, I'm looking for a project.  Please let me know if you need help on Dog Kennel Hill - I'd love to get involved.
I have some californian poppy seeds I can contribute once the weather perks up.

Let me know

hi Rosie
brilliant! I would love some help. Not sure what can be done now that the weather is definitively winter but as soon as planting looks likely lets go. I have quite a few hardy plants that can go in -  echinops, euphorbia wulfenii, and some unknown things that look like iris foliage but are not rhizomes and I havent yet seen the flower. Also when I next visit my parents I'll bring back a lot more little euphorbia robbiae plants (I know how invasive that can be on good soil - but dog kennel hill is a bit of a challenge). Hopefully also a small Bay and some sarcococca.  Btw, the hollyhocks were seeded by one of the council workers of his own accord. I met a couple of them weeding the strip and just about rescued the teasel from being mistaken for a weed.
love california poppies!

Hi Lake
I've been looking in the ?1 shops and there is quite a selection of new gardening stuff.
Should we make a date to meet one day soon to have a look at the site together? I have a blue perennial geranium I can donate, and lots of californian poppy seeds which need no watering and seed everywhere.

Let me know when you are free.

Hi Lake, I've looked at your blog but can't see how to email you. Maybe we could just meet at the garden centre by East Dulwich Station?  I'm free on Sunday 26th Feb if you would like?
