Came across this idea via a vermicomposting site (Bentley Christie's redwormvermicomposting.com). I wondered whether it would be useful to GGs? It's main benefits seem to be that  it means no digging and it suppresses weeds.

I have been meaning to say thanks for this link, because that information helped me sort out the back garden at my new flat.  I covered the horrid scrubby patch of weedy lawn with newspaper and cardboard and killed it off over the winter in a way that the earthworms delighted in.  I have never seen so many earthworms!  I had been dreading dealing with manually digging up all the grass but because of the lasagna method I didn't have to.

In the spring a bit of digging and turning over, and it became a real veg bed.  This is my first non-container gardening and I love it!
