New Wilkinson's upstairs in the Broad Street Mall (Butts Centre) has begun putting out gardening stuff (as have Poundland and the 99p store). Wilko's is doing 15 litre bags of compost for 97p, which works out cheaper than their large bags and is manageable for town centre or bussable projects. Plenty of bulbs available too. Bring some reusable bags and double bag it,  so the compost weight won't cut into your palms.

When is it OK to plant some spring bulbs?
