I don't know why the picture in the above post was posted twice. Anyway. More of the free bulbs, planted in a green space in front of housing.(95) And we have the thumbs up-or sideways! Putting more in at the base of a tree... Not so clear, but more pics of the OTHER side of the tree. Should be a riot of colour in the spring. May get the opportunity to post a pic of what they look like. I know some neighbours if I can't make it back... before during and after

I'm a dab hand at the lopping...!!! before AFTER and the saw... I did another about a month ago, a few metres up, and another the same day, July 18th, across the tracks, but they don't count as I didn't photograph them and post them on here....

I know Theresa Green, but I'm not a fan of ivy covered trees..... Right....I did have a 'before' pic, but had so many other pics that I've lost track and deleted it. You'll have to imagine a green choked tree for yourselves!!! snip snip snip and a few weeks later....

1546 to keep with a recycling theme, I donated my gone over daffs to the 'cause'. dug them out and brought them to be planted outside and potted up my window box with council subsidised alyssom and petunias the petunias have taken off and dwarf the alyssom now!!!

Nigella/ love-in- a-misteasy to sow, grow, and easy on the eye. Nice flowers, interesting seed heads. Selfseeders. Get them going and they'll last. 1609

I don't know what happened in the above botched reply.... Anyway, further examination of the flowers in Reply 4 and asking a neighbour, seems like they had been either weed-whacked or more likely poisoned. However, some hyacinth and tulips planted nearby have survived. As soon as I can attach the photos, I will... Plus, the flowers in Reply 11 are still going strong, the landscapers (what a wonderful profession, ) have cut the grass around them and left them alone.

Right, because I think of little else but guerrilla gardening, I thought I'd already posted photos of these plants, which went in at the same time as those in Reply 4 (which have been killed by either weed whackers or poisoned-they're gone). then I realised I'm not in this part of town when the spring flowering bulbs are in bloom, till this year, that is. So, have a look at what I did a couple of years ago.... 2012 March 5th 2012 March 21st tulips Hyacinths 2012 April 10th

Well, I decided to be a bit bolder. I'm trying sweet corn. start with a few 3"/8cm pots some seed suitable potting compost a dibber and your seeds. Water in well and off you go. haven't decided where I'll put them yet. some will go in the back garden either way.... 3385

Further to Reply 16 where 'My Lovely Assistant' helped last year, I did a solo run on August 10th. A bit of maintenance. The one we did last year and the one beside it. Sending up suckers... not any more... Last year's. and after pruning... 4194

This is where we were at the canal Goldenbridge. The large red brick structure on the right is about where our home was. Adjacent to the lampost on the left I fell in the canal circa 1947. Was sorry to see Goldenbridge primary school had gone. Did not see much more as we were on our way to Naas. Intend planting a willow tree and some flowers on the canal bank where I was a very lucky little boy. Then I will take a long walk down maybe to Dophin's Barn? Admire your dedication along the canal. Great work and informative too.

Good news and bad news, the crocosmia in Reply #24 survived and flourished this year. the bad news is that on the Canal+ thread, the nasturtiums that were doing so well have been pulled out-they are gone. But, on the same thread, the hollyhocks have been left to flower and go to seed....well done, for ONCE, Waterways Ireland..... so, that's a definite success... 4283

Anyway, as you do, certain things wreck my head. And if noone does anything about it, I end up losing the plot and doing it myself. Like this evening.... There is always a puddle of water after it rains. RIGHT WHERE people walk. so, seeing as there was some ongoing work, replacing and installing new bicycle parking, I decided to take some action... Here is the flood plain. Here is an ample supply of topsoil. Here is where there USED to be a flood plain. No more. yee haaa ( a passerby stopping for a chat and photoshoot!) 4335
