I am starting this event to bring together people who would like to talk about finding ways to bring healthy food to all the angels in the city of.
The original idea for this event was called by individuals in Europe (Germany, Netherlands, etc) and happens to be just one week after the Global March Against Monsanto. I figure meeting in the same location as the rally allows people who attend that to attend this meeting.
It seems like a good way to bring some of the same people together to talk about ways we can start to feed each other in the large and vast food desert we live in.
I heard several people raise concerns about the poor/working-class/minorities/people of color/disabled and others being unable to feed themselves healthy food. So, I would like to make sure that is included in the discussion.
I also heard concerns about how we cannot "shop" our way out of these problems. So, I would like to make sure that is something we discuss as well.
I am happy to make this horizontal, so if you are interested in helping organize this, please let me know and I will do my best to make sure everyone who wants to help can.
I was thinking a simple discussion and maybe a seed bomb/ball making session would be a good start. And I am hoping to continue this in to different neighborhoods if people are interested.
THINGS TO BRING: ~ Seeds (hopefully food-producing kinds of seeds) ~ Soil ~ Compost ~ Worm Castings ~ Some clay powder ~ Water ~ Seedlings ~ Cuttings ~ Bowls ~ Plant containers ~ Spoon or mixing tool ~ Gloves if you want to use them
Let's keep the momentum going.
This is not a "permitted" event but just a public gathering in a public space to talk about things that effect public food and to work together to solves some public problems.
