Hey everyone!
There's a new D.C. guerilla gardening group troweling the District: the D.C. Guerilla Gardeners! I extend a hearty invite to you all to join us for our first event on April 18, 2010. We are going to meet up at the corner of T Street NW and Vermont Avenue NW in Washington, D.C. (super easy to get to by the Metro Green Line) and clean out the existing beds on that corner. We are then going to plant!
As this is our first event, we are opting for a more "out in the open" sort of guerilla-ness. As we grow and get more experienced and familiar with eachother, I fully anticipate more clandestine gardening.
Interest in the group has been amazing! We have several people committed to the first event, as well as nurseries and plant stores willing to chip in and help. Garden District on 14th Street is scheduling a special seminar on tree planting, just for us!
