There is one in the city of Lawndale (Dan McKenzie Community Garden)  just east of 160th and Hawthorne Blvd. I have been trying unsuccessfully to find out how to rent a plot there, but no one I've contacted at the city administration knows... did find this: http://www.lawndalecity.org/ASSETS/PDF/Parks/ParksRecreationMcKenzieGardens.pdf

Good luck

The city of Torrance has two community gardens. They are booked out though.
