I've noticed that some of the posts have had a significant amount of people reading them but only a few responses have been posted.  I was wondering what we could do to increase our ability to communicate and actually work together to get some of our ideas out of our heads and into the community.

Suggestions?

Good question, the problem is that folks can READ the posts without actually being members, so its kind of tough. I think that many of the lookers are people who are interested and want to know how much action is in their area, when they only see a few posts with not a lot of action, rather than joining, they blow it off....Probably the best thing to do is to start really talking amongst ourselves and hopefully more and more people will join....

Hi , i think the number of times a post is read can be a little  misleading as far as judging interest/numbers goes as i think a lot of people read the most recent posts section . so you get people from all over the world checking out whats going on , often finding good ways of  organising/acting based on others experience.
Maybe you could flypost/leaflet your immediate area - pointing people towards the site and your posts , or a coffee shop / picnic meet where ideas can be discussed. Its often  a good way for like minded people to meet up as well.
