Has anyone experienced a pregnant woman wanting to eat clay before? I know it is full of minerals, iron especially, still kinda odd though.

 Cheesy Actually, that's quite common... she really shouldn't though, could be harmful bacteria in the clay. My advice is, buy some vitamins/minerals/iron supplement pills and eat them instead. That could rid her of her "strange" urge to eat clay.

Yes, that is very common, and I first found out about it while I was in Afghanistan. The women there would literally eat dirt.
