Well,

here is a chestnut (0r two, not sure) about to be planted along side the N4 Chapelizod bypass in the Liffey Valley Park.

Well, some spanner's gone and broken it. Drat and double drat!


but I planted two, so, hopefully one will survive to maturity. I DO love chestnut trees. They have a nice spring flower, they possess a lovely symmetrical shape, go a nice colour in the autumn and you can play with the fruit and comp0st the leaves. Then start all over again the next year!



They're in this park. I waited 12 months to take this photo of the daffs, and waited too long. Most of them have gone over. Ah well. There's always 2011

well, one of them has survived. A couple of buds there to be optimistic about...

then, took a wander over the brow of the hill to admire the view, the autumnal colour of the leaves, with Anna Livia and de Feeno in the background.

the railing in previous posts was damaged and has been replaced by muck, soil dirt etc....
