I'm new any tips on solo gardening. I can grow sunflowers and all types of roses, but i don't really know what to do with my green thumb. Or where to put it to use.

have a look at local front gardens as a guide to the type of plants that are native to your area of the country. Most packets of seeds have good instructions on how to get them started off pretty easily enough.
