Earth day is Wednesday, April 22. It looks like it's turning into earth week with things going on from the 18th through Saturday the 25th. SoCal Guerrilla Gardening will be doing a dig on the 22nd and 25th. I'll post the times and locations later. The dig on the 22nd might be a small one compared to past SoCal digs.
The dig on the 25th might be in conjunction with the premier of the must see documentary "The Garden"  http://thegardenmovie.com/  There are a few spots in Long Beach (we're coming Wrigley!!) I would like to hit and depending on the response I'll pick the one that fits the projected turnout. I'm off from the 22nd through the 26th so if you have a spot or want to do something on Thursday the 23  or Friday the 24th let me know and I'll try to figure out something to do. Don't worry about plants or tools as we can supply everything but you to a dig.
Email me to get on our mailing list for more details on this and future projects.

Hi all,

I'm a journalism student in Des Moines, Iowa, and I'm writing a feature story on Guerrilla Gardening. Would anyone be interested in doing a short interview with me about this project and your experience with GG?

If you can help, please shoot me an email at rem012@drake.edu.

Thanks!

We had a nice turnout for our first dig in Wrigley today. Thanks to everyone that came out and helped. Special thanks to Adriana for helping organize the event and for getting her friends and neighbors from Wrigley out to the dig.  We found several other spots in this area of Long Beach so we'll be back.  I can't wait for the fall when we're going to put in a much larger garden in near the LA river bike trail.
Also, There is going to be a huge tree planting (over 200 trees) in Wrigley next Saturday the 2nd. Checkout  http://www.neighborhoodlink.com/longbch/wrigley/genpage/836258379.html for details on how to get involved.
