Hi there.  Count me in if anythings going on.  Im in Eltham and seem to be its only Guerilla Gardener (although I got caught planting tulip bulbs outside the church on Saturday afternoon and got referred to as "God's Gardener" instead - so much for the balaclava and camoflauge jacket!)

Gem, If you want to join Russell and me as "God's gardeners" Wink, come along on Sunday 1-4pm to St Swithun's, Hither Green Church yard (off St Swithun's lane) with a fork and gloves for some heavy duty digging up of brambles. It's not guerilla, but it'll provide a community with an allotment and uniformed organisations (brownies, rainbows, cubs, beavers, scouts and venturers) with land for them to use as they wish.
Obvsiouly that invitation's to Russell as well, and anyone else who happens to read this.
All the best,
Peter

Sorry to have missed the opportunity - wasnt feeling too good!  But Im up for anything in a similar vein.  Mind you, Eltham seems to be quite well looked after apropos plants etc.  So I'd welcome suggestions!

All local Guerillas hie yourself down to Eltham High Street where there are bargains to be had, thanks to the sudden proliferation of pound shops.  The new one recently opened in what used to be Woolworths has great mini rose bushes in white, yellow and pink for 99p each - even cheaper than the local plant stall in Passey Place.  They need a bit of looking through as some are suffering a little.

The Poundland in what used to be the Co-op over the road has bags of 50 iris bulbs/gladiolus bicolour (not the gaudy Edna Everage type but a delicate white, star shaped flower with a central purple blotch) for ?1, or you can go exotic with 4 Pineapple Lillies for the same price.

If there's one good aspect of the credit crunch, its the possibility of cheap gardening!

Hi there
I am new to Guerrillagardening. I live in the Thamesmead area. I was wondering if there is anything happening here?
Has anyone out there heard of The River of flowers? This would be a great project, esp as so near the Thames, and there is a lot of waste ground too, which is crying out for wild flowers, and would be a feeding station for butterflies and bees.
If anyone want s to add something please do. If we managed to plant some seeds this Autumn and prepare the ground we would have some lovely wild flowers out in the spring. These in turn would out grow a lot of the grass which is choking any wild flowers in the area anyway.
Cheers

Hey all,
I'm just about to move to Greenwich (living near Cutty Sark DLR and working in Eltham) and am really interested in getting involved. I'm sure it's not the best time of year and I don't really know the area at all yet but I love the concept of guerilla gardening and think it'd be a nice way to discover Greenwich...
Therefore, if there's anything going on please let me know and I can come and help! Smiley

Hello, another newbie here!

I'm in Eltham as well. There seem to be a few local people on here....perhaps we could arrange to meet up and sort out a plan of action?
