Hay guys,
were both new to this (me and my partner) but are up for planting lots of fruit and veg plants in and around Cardiff.

After having a look through here a couple of days ago i set out looking for a suitable spot (either close to my house, or close to my place of work) and have found what i think to be a suitable place, its on Churchill way in the city centre, all the way along the middle of the road are huge concrete planters that have nothing inside them.

I thought it may be good to plant some nice herbs and veg in them.

I'm not really sure about what to do or where to start (we live in a flat and our only garden is the window sill!!!)

Is anyone else interested in planting some stuff there?

As i said before WE KNOW NOTHING MUCH ABOUT GARDENING AT ALL!!!! so we could really do with some help.

If your up for this then let us know, on the other hand if there are any other digs going on then please let us know and we will come along to give a hand

cheers

Hey there,

I'm up for planting something too - partially as a kind of project for uni...
Was thinking about the traffic island between Cowbridge Road East and Wellington Street in Canton, but empty planters on Churchill Way sound good...

I'm gonna go to a gardening centre tomorrow to find out what plants are cheap, available and likely to survive planted at this time of the year and in this weather. So can let you know if I find out anything interesting.

Not sure about the herbs - think it might be a bit cold to plant them now... But it's definitely a season to put tulips or daffodils in the ground and they are going to come out in the spring...

Also I'm gonna do a bigger piece - old sofa wrapped in turf - to put temporarily (for about a week or two) in a small grass patch at the junction of Lower Cathedral Road and Green Street, probably early morning this thursday... Am desperately in need of someone with a large car but any helping hand would be great...

Anyone up for that sort of thing?
