Hey all

I've always wanted to do something subversive, and after watching the story that was on the 7.30 Report the other night I thought "This is DEFINITELY for me!"  Although I'm not a very experienced gardener (due to circumstances, I live in a flat with no garden beds), I have managed to maintain vegetables, flowers, shrubs and succulents in pots without knocking any off  Wink

What I'd like to know is if there are any other Novocastrians out there with a touch of Green-Thumb-Itis who would like to get involved in a bit of guerilla gardening?  I've seen some around my local area that are attached to residences (eg footpath gardens, adoption of nature strips for veggie patches) but I'm not aware of any that have been started in public spaces.  I'm sure there would be plenty of places around here that could stand a bit of a spruce up - the roundabout at Jesmond for one, it's atrocious!

Anyway, if you live around the Newcastle area, and you're up for a bit of honest skullduggery, please don't be backwards in coming forwards.

I live on the Central Coast and have, currently, a highly unreliable wre... -er- car, but I also have a brother, sister-in-law and two adorable nephews in Newcastle whom I really should drive up and see, perhaps we can have a coffee somewhere and maybe dig in a pot of herbs or two in somewhere at the same time?

I have something that poses like a car - it may not look like much, but it runs Wink  Therefore, I would be able to provide the wheels.  Let me know when you're next coming up and we'll organise something  Smiley

Hi, I've just joined Guerilla Gardening after being inspired by Aunty! I've been guerilla gardening my nature strips in Mayfield for a couple of years now. My neighbour has joined the fight, and many more are doing their bit around the local streets. I'd love to get involved in more around Newcastle, but am limited as am single with 2 young kids at home.  Roll Eyes Doesn't rule me out completely though, so let me know what I can do to help fight! Will post some photos of my progress soon. Unfortunately I don't have any before's, but it's not hard to imagine grass, grass and more grass!??

I live at Bolton Point. I did not realize that I was already a guerrilla Gardener. There is a walking lane beside my home. It was always overgrown with weeds and rubbish. I planted it with bandicooted plants. it now looks greatish. But no more weeds and no more rubbish. The big plus is that I have got to chat with loads of people. Cheers raindrposforever.
