This Sunday 8th June, we'll be descending on Hillfields Young People's Centre, Yardley St, Coventry, to turn its rather neglected grounds into a beautiful space for nature!

We'll be installing a community compost bin, creating a bog garden, planting wild flowers and turning a dead tree into a sculpture.

We also hope to encourage local residents to make and hang window boxes on the flats nearby, spreading the joy even for those who have no garden.

Yes, we've had to ask the Council for permission, but we felt the speedy and high-impact nature of this project deserves it a place on the Guerilla website!

If you'd like to get involved just turn up between 9am and 4pm. Lunch provided.

Know this is a bit late, and it's info rather than help.

I work in the City Centre and have chatted to the English Landscapes lads in Lady Herbert Garden (the guys doing all the public space gardening)

It was last year, but they were up for giving the plants away as they have to dump them every time they change the beds.

It was an informal chat, so not sure how you should approach it.

Good luck anyway.

Hello.  I've just joined this website and am thrilled to find some Coventry activity here.  I've been making a small attempt to improve the bed outside the Sports Centre, and would very much like to know who was your contact in the Council and what sort of response you got from them.  I must try and get along to look at your Hillfields site and see how it is faring.
