Title: Harvesting Sap from Public Trees?
Post by: FiftySticks on September 09, 2009, 02:08:59 AM
I remember tapping maple trees and cooking it into syrup with my Gramma on her property when I was young and would love to try my hand at making some myself now but I live downtown... with no property of my own, a far cry from the 40 acres my Gramma used to have.

Has anyone tapped any public trees before? What did the city do? Did folks bother them?

Mike

If I were the city forester, I don't think I'd be in favor of this.  If someone doesn't know what they're doing, they can spread a fungal or insect infestation in a big fat hurry.
