Title: tree-planting
Post by: Kiashu on September 07, 2008, 05:54:38 AM
Most of the area where I am is fairly well-done in terms of little bushes and flowers. What we do lack is trees. However, the railway line is a bit bleak in places, just grass, so I thought it'd be good to plant some trees. If you look at googlemaps here (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=hughesdale+melbourne&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=31.646818,63.808594&ie=UTF8&t=h&ll=-37.896903,145.082016&spn=0.003827,0.007414&z=17&iwloc=addr), you can see that on the upper left there's "Galbally Reserve", a small park, and its trees extend along the railway for a bit.

I reckon some tree-planting there would be good, and less likely to be pulled up by any official busybodies - they might mistake our planting for "legitimate" council planting. We can gradually extend it along the railway tracks in the area. I say "we" since I have already roped a mate in to help.

I've not read of any experiences with guerilla tree-planting, has anyone got advice or ideas to share?
